María V. Díaz Zayas, D.M.D.

Dr. Díaz is from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed her bachelors degree in Science at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. She went on to complete her doctorate in dental medicine at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and among the top of her class.  

She left Puerto Rico to complete a year in general practice residency, at Montefiore Hospital, New York. In residency she discovered her true passion, periodontal surgery, and applied for specialty training. She completed her certificate in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Shortly after, she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. 

After working for several years in Florida and teaching at Nova University Department of Periodontics and Implant Surgery, she decided to return to PR to be with her family and friends. She is happy to be home and serve the puertorican population. 

Currently she has two offices in San Juan, where she practices full time. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Colegio de Cirujanos Dentistas de PR and member of the board of directives for Sociedad de Periodoncia e Implantologia de Puerto Rico.  Dr. Díaz has also been honored with the opportunity to teach as an Ad Honorem Faculty Member of the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, her Alma Mater.
